I was thrilled to see my mom, Ginger (Virginia Watson) listed on your website. I have many memories of the drag strip as a child. My mom was the first female to fight the NHRA to allow her to be allowed to drive a dragster in competition. I have many letters to and from the NHRA back and forth fighting about the issue. Before they were allowed to drive, my mom actually went as a man named SAM, a girdle strapped across her chest to hide her being a female and a firesuit and helmet to hide the rest.
