I was there that day too, I was 8. We were there to see our family friend, Paul Bench, race his Hydro "OUTLAW". Back then, Bench, Frank Dade, Proctor, Skip Hazelton were some of the big names in the sport, at least at the local level. That was some sight. Loud, scary, and later quite emotional. You are right, he had passed the lights. We were sitting by the announcer stand and he was a little past us. About a year later I was at the shop, that I believe Proctor's family owned, they had a set of amazing still pictures of the accident. 42 years later and I remember it like yesterday. Do you have a picture of the White Mist before the accident?
